Hours: 8 hours per day (7:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.), 181 Days per Year; Required to work summer school if offered - 14 days approximately in July and August for additional pay.
Salary: $30.32 - $34.44 DOE
This is an off-schedule, non-bargaining position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Pre-Electrical Instructional Assistant will assist in the planning, coordinating, and operation of the Tri-Tech Pre-Electrical program. This position will work jointly with the Tri-Tech Pre-Electrical instructor(s) in supervising and monitoring skill development of the students. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years of general industrial electrical maintenance experience in installation, repair, maintenance and testing of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems. The candidate will be responsible for site safety and ensure the jobsite is safe as well as manage compliance with established safety policies.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must present transcripts of the highest level of education within 30 days of employment.

- Possess a current First Aid/ CPR Card or be willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Positive recommendations and evaluations in past and present jobs.

- Completion of Safe School Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Experience: A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Training and Mentorship: Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring others in electrical maintenance practices and safety protocols.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with students, parents, staff, fellow employees, and management.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using basic computer programs for record-keeping, timecard entry, and email communication.
- Policy Adherence: Commitment to upholding board policies and following established administrative procedures.
- Safety Precautions: Ability to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities at all times.
- Professional Development: Willingness to attend training sessions, meetings, and any additional training as directed by management.
- Safety Assessment: Proven ability to assess safety issues and implement corrective measures effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Experience working with high school age students.

- Program Support: Collaborate with instructors to plan, coordinate, and operate the Tri-Tech Pre-Electrical Program effectively.
- Student Engagement: Provide individualized support and guidance to students, both in one-on-one settings and group activities, to enhance their learning experience.
- Safety Management: Assist in maintaining a safe and organized working environment for all students and staff.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with program requirements, ensuring a secure learning atmosphere.
- Policy Adherence: Execute all responsibilities in alignment with Kennewick School District policies and procedures, demonstrating regular attendance and punctuality.
- Additional Duties: Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor (Tri-Tech Administration) to support program objectives.

- Lifting: The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

- Physical Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a wide variety of temperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F +. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.
