Hours: 8 Hours Per Day (M–F 7:30 am – 4:30 pm), 260 Days Per Year
Starting Hourly Rate: $27.20 - $31.79
This is an Off-Schedule (non-bargaining) position.
Job Description
The position will support efficient operation of the Business Office, be responsible for Accounts Receivable, procurement card program and bank deposits, serve as liaison for processing district liability/property insurance and Tort claims, maintain Risk Management files, create and prepare reports and correspondence, schedule activities, order supplies and monitor administrative building inventories, maintain fiscal records and accounts, respond positively and effectively to requests from district and community members, and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- High School diploma/equivalent.
- Must present transcripts of highest level of education within thirty (30) days of hire, if applicable.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position.
- Must be able to pass a basic skills test as needed.
- Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.
- Must pass a background check, which includes employee paid fingerprinting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- College/business school and/or comparable work experience in a secretarial/office setting.
- Proficiency in budget and bookkeeping procedures including setting up fiscal accounts, accounts receivable, purchasing/requisitioning supplies and materials, maintaining high number of records.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Publisher software.
- Setting up and maintaining files, both hard copies and in a computer system.
- Use of computer programs to create spreadsheets, charts, and other related materials necessary for reporting, maintaining records.
- Evidence of an excellent work attendance record, punctuality and dependability.
- Ability to establish and maintain a tactful, cooperative and effective relationship with students, parents, staff, fellow employees and management.
- Customer service experience demonstrating positive and effective interaction addressing public requests.
- Ability to work under pressure with numerous interruptions while maintaining a positive and appropriate attitude and routine.
- Evidence of ability to define problems, collect data and facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret instructions and procedures. Must demonstrate ability to be detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative to set priorities. Excellent written and verbal skills, including working knowledge of correct grammar and spelling for the English language.

QUALFICIATIONS PREFERRED
- AA or BA degree preferred.
- Experience in working in school district office setting.
- Performing day to day work within computer-based business software applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate account records of program budgets to include such aspects as requisitions and purchase orders.
- Maintain Accounts Receivables, post deposits.
- Maintain and follow up on all student accident claims.
- Prepare district and state and federal reports with supporting documentation.
- Complete monthly payroll reports for employees under the supervision of the Business Office.
- Order supplies, materials and equipment for Business Office as appropriate.
- Effectively communicate Business Office information to/with building level staff.
- Assist with collection, tabulation and analysis of data, including detailed data, as required.
- Maintain District Administration Building inventory. Maintain records for door key distribution and phone lists in Administration building.
- Distribute and accounting of the Invest Ed Foundation Funds.
- Process and accounting of all various assigned invoices, with proper reconciliation.
- Department timecard tracking/review/processing.
- Monitor and respond to donations provided to the District.
- Compose letters/memos/reports independently and with minimal instruction. Lead coordination of legal ads/notices implementation.
- Initiate Administration Building work orders through district work order program.
- Perform all duties of the position within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality.
- Maintain proper notary licensure.
- Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in diagram form. Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
